Hysterectomy – Gender Affirming
A surgical procedure that involves the removal of the uterus, and in some cases the cervix, ovaries, and fallopian tubes, as part of gender affirmation care for transgender and non-binary individuals. This procedure may be an important step for those assigned female at birth who identify as male or non-binary, helping to align their physical characteristics with their gender identity. It can also alleviate gender dysphoria and improve overall well-being. Like all gender affirming care, the decision to undergo hysterectomy is deeply personal and typically follows a comprehensive assessment and informed consent process.
