If I have a hysterectomy will my hormones be changed?

Hysterectomy does not always involve taking out the ovaries and if the ovaries are not removed then the hormone levels will be the same.

This means that for women who have a hysterectomy where the ovaries are not removed, you will go through menopause at the normal time. Because there are no further periods, the symptoms of menopause may be hot flushes or sweats, or may not occur at all.
