Growing up in Sydney, Dr Elizabeth Luxford studied Medicine at the University of New South Wales and trained as a rural General Practitioner in the Riverina before specialising as an Obstetrician Gynaecologist. Having completed specialist training at Westmead Hospital, Elizabeth gained further experience with fellowships in high risk obstetrics and diagnostic ultrasound, whilst working in a busy public Vulvovaginal Clinic.
Elizabeth has been mentored and trained by industry-leading experts in vulvovaginal medicine, and is one of only a handful of gynaecologists in Sydney with expertise in this field.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disorders, a member of the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society, the Australian Society for Ultrasound Medicine and the Australian Association of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ultrasonologists.
Elizabeth has had research published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at domestic and international conferences. She is a highly respected and valued member of the obstetrics and gynaecology community within Sydney, and has a collaborative approach with a broad range of healthcare practitioners.
In addition to her vulvovaginal clinic and medical gynaecology private practice, Dr Elizabeth works as a consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist at Ultrasound Care, and enjoys spending time cooking, swimming and cycling with her husband and young children.
Please note: Dr Luxford is taking an extended leave of absence from 7th December 2023. Continuity of care for existing patients will be provided by the clinical team at Alana. In her absence, new patients referred to Dr Luxford will be guided towards another member of the clinical team.
