Carolyn Woodhead

Don’t be fooled by her vegetarian, art loving ways.  With a Diploma of Professional Practice Management and a Cert 4 in Common Sense, Carolyn means business.  When she’s not at work she’s……at work – being the mother of three growing kids and dreaming up ways to make Alana even better than it already is.

Carolyn has been working in medical practice management and business development since 1997.  Originally graduating with a degree in Textile Design, Carolyn then worked at the Royal Hospital for Women for 10 years gaining valuable experience in the public health and medical research sectors, before leaving to embark on the adventure that is Alana Healthcare with founding Director Jason Abbott.

She has a Diploma of Professional Practice Management and is a Certified Practice Manager with the Australian Association of Practice Managers.  In 2014 she was selected as an AAPM Ambassador for the purposes of providing advice to industry and other members.  In 2017 she was a finalist in the AAPM’s NSW/ACT Practice Manager of the Year award.  Carolyn advocates for patients and staff alike and has a special interest in developing quality improvement programs for the practice.

Carolyn is committed to women’s health and has previously combined her time managing the business of Alana with being a Research Assistant in the School of Women’s and Children’s Health at UNSW, where she worked alongside a dedicated team of medical professionals carrying out important research into women’s health.

Outside of work Carolyn is a mum, a volunteer, a sometimes runner and a cook.  Carolyn loves textiles and chocolate, and collects both.  Although she is far more successful at preserving the textiles!
